Laura Parker: Simplifying Singing, A Playful Approach to Using the Alexander Technique

“The singing voice is so subtle and demands such multitudinous activities, that is can be controlled only when used naturally and thought about in a simple way...”

—Giovanni Battista Lamperti

When training as a singer, there is tremendous amount of stimulus and pressure to value product over process, which can lead to technical hurdles and unhelpful mental chatter. “Put this here, lift this, relax this,” can lead any singer down a path of overworking and struggling with excess tension. This experiential workshop will explore the simplicity of the mind-body process of singing without any attachment to an outcome. No judgment allowed!

You don’t have to be a singer or an AT teacher to attend this workshop, all are welcome!
