Meade Andrews: Neck Free, Head Forward and Up, Back to Lengthen and Widen
Alexander's original sequence of directional thinking provides a powerful awakening of our 3-dimensional design and structure. They awaken the powerful and connecting forces of lengthening, widening, and deepening embedded within our body's design. We will explore these directions via movement, and also address several variations on a theme: "Back back, Heels down, Point Up" (Israel), "Your Head leads, and your Body Follows," (Marjorie Barstow), We will explore these directions as the underpinning for various movements, such as walking and the roll down.
This workshop is primarily suited for experienced teachers, trainees, and students with a fair amount of experience. Be prepared to move through the space. Please wear comfortable clothes, designed for movement.
