Ilana Machover: Integrating Arms and Legs in Activities
This is a practical one-hour workshop. Using anatomical observations, I explain the way arms and legs integrate in movement. I demonstrate a couple of movements based on AT principles. I encourage participants to be creative and improvise short movements that they can teach most of their students. We can make them aerobic. We split into groups of 3 to explore movements – One creates and guides, one performs and one observes; changing roles. Then all get together for summing up, discussion and questions.
Open to all, no experience necessary.
What you’ll need:
Please wear comfortable clothes and make sure that you have some floor space and can move your arms around. The movements can be performed on the spot.
If possible, please prepare an object weighing around 4–5kg (8-10 lbs). You can use a small bag or another container of sugar/rice/beans, etc.
