Frances Marsden: Bringing Dart Work Alive in Ourselves and in Our Teaching
As we go into the primary curve, we will sense the natural counterbalance between the head and the tail. We will continue to observe this counterbalance as we come out of the primary curve into the secondary curve. The secondary curve allows us to come to an upright stance with our head naturally forward and up as our pelvis releases in the opposite direction.
Spirals are visible all around us in nature and in our own bodies, allowing us to move with grace and ease. However, there is often a tendency to pull down and go into a habitual twist, losing our potential for lengthening and balance. As we inhibit and direct in a spiral movement, we release out of the twist to regain a sense of poise.
Please bring a mat and a chair and allow space for movement.
