REMEMBERING JUDY: A Centennial Celebration of the Life, Work, and Legacy of Judith Leibowitz
REMEMBERING JUDY was an online celebration of the 100th birthday of Alexander teachers Judy Leibowitz and her twin sister Pearl Ausubel on October 7th, 2020. Judy was a founder as well as the first director of The American Center for the Alexander Technique (ACAT); she was also a founding faculty member of the Juilliard Drama Division, where she taught for 23 years.
The event paints a multi-faceted, moving, and inspiring portrait of Judy through remembrances from her ACAT and Juilliard colleagues and former students, as well as some archival footage of her teaching. Pearl’s teaching at ACAT is also celebrated. Kim Jessor and Carolyn Serota are pleased to now offer the video to the JLSF for donation-based viewing. We hope you enjoy a glimpse into the rich history of these two master teachers and the first Alexander Technique Teacher Training in the U.S.A.
