Eva Karczag: What If?
The word inhibition is widely used in the Alexander world. This term, which should, ideally, create a moment, an opening for choice, often leads to a damping of flow. Suppressed by its entangled associations, inhibition becomes heavy and lacks movement.
Can we take this term and re-envision our relationship with it as alive and vibrant?
What if we think of inhibition as breath-space that opens limitless choice?
What if inhibition is movement that fills this breath-space with potential?
What if inhibition is our innate ability to be present and available, thus omni-directionality becomes an attainable possibility?
What if we allow our instinctive desire for freedom to lead us into the direction of lightness and ease, effortlessly?
In this workshop we will explore these propositions and use sensation, touch, and image as guides.
I will introduce ideas inspired by Ideokinesis and Taijiquan into the Alexander worldview in order to support our explorations.
